Get Right and Get Energized

If you struggle to keep your eyes open at some part of the day, it’s time to look at your life and get right. There are some things that can bring you an abundance of energy through any day.

Have you ever gone out to run errands and come home absolutely exhausted? Have you ever had to pleasure of working on a project while struggling to keep your eyes open at work? You need to take a moment to look at your lifestyle and fix some things. When it comes to getting energized and staying energized, there are some culprits that you may need to get rid of. These things are easy to do and will bring you a lot of energy in the long run.

Getting Right and Energized

There is no coffee involved. There are no energy drinks that will match the constant boost that having a natural energy boost will bring to your life. If this is a battle you constantly fight, it’s time to get on with it and win. Your life deserves more than nodding and irritability because you are constantly tired.

Ink It In: Keep a Sleep Schedule

There are millions of people that party hard on the weekend and wonder why their week is horrible afterwards. They wonder why they don’t have the strength to do what needs to be done during the week after their binge. It’s because they have not gotten enough sleep along with their fun.

When you keep a sleep schedule, you are giving your body time to reboot from the day or days before. You are allowing your stressed body to heal and get rid of the stuff you don’t need. A fully rested body won’t have a need to nap or stop from sheer exhaustion. Keeping a sleep schedule doesn’t mean going to bed by 8 pm as an adult. It just means giving yourself time to get 7-9 hours of sleep.

If you have to go out and party hard on the weekends, do it on Friday and Saturday. Use Sunday as your sleep day and get some rest.

Cut It Out: Cut Down Your Sugar and Caffeine Intake

Let’s face it, sugar and caffeine taste really good. That daily latte and blueberry muffin are just what the doctor ordered when you don’t have time fix a proper breakfast. Well, that is just what steals your energy and keeps you on the hamster wheel of exhaustion.

When you are feeding your body caffeine and sugar, you are getting a temporary boost of energy. It will not last. When you come down from your little boost, you often feel worse than you did before you had it. Then you get another coffee or something sweet to get your energy levels back up. That is not sustainable energy and you need to stop.

Instead of allowing your body to get used to those quick sugar fixes, it’s time for you to find healthier options. When you eat a meal or a snack, you need to look for something that has protein. Protein will help you feel fuller longer and it will give you a steady stream of energy. Carbs are good but they aren’t the only thing you need. Instead of having a plain bagel, have a yogurt and fruit with it. That will keep you energized and feeling full until lunch.

Power Up: Nap It Out

After a long stretch of a project or after lunch, it may be best if you closed your eyes for 5-10 minutes. Most people don’t think this is a great idea for adults. They don’t think their body is tired because they are able to walk without stumbling like a toddler.

While your body may not be tired, your brain may be exhausted. When your brain is tired, it needs a moment to rest and escape the constant bombardment of different issues and ideas. The only way to do that is to close your eyes for 5-10 minutes and allow your body to drift away. This will help quiet the constant chatter you hear and allow you to go back to work feeling less overwhelmed. When your brain has had time to reset, you will feel much better physically.

Healthy Drinks: Power Up with Water

Your body sends you signals. Those signals are important and will tell you what you need to do. Unfortunately, most people mix those signals and don’t give their body what they need to stay energized.

Because most people don’t drink enough water, they are consistently dehydrated. Many times, when people feel hungry, they are actually thirsty. And when they feel thirsty, most people often grab what tastes good instead of what’s good for their bodies. Water is the best thing anyone can drink. It will hydrate the body and help the kidneys flush the toxins that have accumulated in their bodies.

Too many caffeine rich and sugary drinks often clog the body. It gives people a false sense of energy that needs to be maintained with more sugar and caffeine. Instead of powering up with caffeine and sugar, it’s time to power up with pure water.

Move Through: Wake Up with Exercise

When you have the stamina and conditioning that comes with exercise, you are able to stay awake and alert much longer. You may think it’s an impossible feat with such a busy schedule but it’s not. Instead of allowing yourself to find excuses, it’s time to make exercise a priority.

There are many ways to exercise without having to join an expensive gym or get yelled at by a personal trainer. When you go shopping, park further away from the entrance and walk. When you have the option of riding the escalator or elevator, opt for the stairs. The best exercise nobody wants to do is cleaning their home thoroughly. Instead of avoiding it, turn your favorite playlist on and start cleaning.

Laughing is Contagious: Laugh for Energy

When you laugh and are happy, your body is flooded with the feel good chemicals, oxytocin, dopamine, serotonin and endorphins. When your body is flooded with these chemicals, you don’t feel absolutely exhausted.

As these chemicals are released into your body, you will look forward to getting more of it. You will enjoy your surroundings and you will often chase that feeling of being tired away. Many people often feel tired when they are bored and there is no boredom when you are laughing.

Now is the time to keep yourself entertained and laugh your sleepiness away.

Keep Them Away: Avoid Negative and Stressful People

It takes a lot of energy to be around negative people and stressful situations. You have to maintain a lot of control and that takes a lot of effort, physically, mentally and emotionally. When you are in a constant battle for control of yourself, you will be in a constant state of exhaustion. It’s time to stop. Let that go and come into a life of energy.

If your life is filled with negative people and constant stress, it’s time to make changes. There is nothing wrong with preserving your energy and strength by avoiding things that don’t bring you the positive things you bring to their life. If YOU are the source of chaos and negativity, it’s time to seek help and get your energy back.

Get Right by Eating Right

There really is something to the saying, “You are what you eat.” If you are constantly filling your body with fast food and junk food, you won’t have the energy you need to get through the day. Those foods are not filled with the vitamins, minerals and nutrients your body needs to operate at its best. Instead of eating those things constantly, eat healthier.

Eating fruits and veggies will bring the color back into a colorless world. Your body will get nutrients it hasn’t had before and your body will work properly. If you can’t eat a colorful meal, make sure to take your vitamins and supplements. Your waistline will thank you along with the return of your energy.
